Artists Talk: John Akomfrah and Smoking Dogs
International award winning artist film-makers Smoking Dogs speak to Karen Alexander, senior tutor of Curating Contemporary Art and the Royal College of Art. John Akomfrah will talk over their past works and introduce a special screening of their new film created around the River Tamar, Tropikos. There will be the opportunity to put your questions to Smoking Dogs during a short Q&A session.

John Akomfrah
Born in Ghana, John Akomfrah OBE, lives and works in London. Alongside producers Lina Gopaul and David Lawson, over the last 30 years he has been committed to giving a voice and a presence to the legacy of the African Diaspora in Europe; using historical archives to create film essays and speculative fictional stories about our collective past. They are founding members of the Black Audio Film Collective.
