For one night only, Bere Alston Parish Hall is transformed into its former use as a war-time cinema. Complete with archive newsreel, your feature film for the evening is the classic 1949 Ealing Studios Comedy Whisky Galore!

The horror of wartime rationing finally hits a remote Scottish island when the supply of whisky runs out. Without the “uisge beatha” (water of life) to sustain them, depression descends until a chance shipwreck and its precious cargo are discovered. Can the islanders outwit the soldiers to smuggle the whisky ashore before the boat sinks?
