Artist Talk: Catherine Yass

Join 2002 Turner Prize nominee, Catherine Yass, as she discusses her work.

A rare screening of Catherine Yass’ short 16mm film Lock (2006) is accompanied by the artist in conversation with Lucy Reynolds. Catherine discusses her experience of filming at the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River, and her enduring interest in bridges, rivers and the sea. Catherine’s discussion will be followed by a 16mm screening of American artist Peter Hutton’s poetic film of the River Hudson, Study of a River (1997), offering a contrasting but complimentary portrait of a river journey.

The event will feature a Q&A session and is free to attend. Doors open at 1pm. Please arrive early to secure your place as space is limited.
We regret that this event is not available for pre-booking through the Peninsula Arts box office.

This event is part of the Confluences artists’ film programme, screening 1 – 6pm at Ashtorre Rock, free entry.
